Nikolai Makarov was born July 21, 1952 in Moscow. 1969 - 72: Attended Institute for Foreign Languages, Moscow; 1974: Worked in MOSFILM Studio workshop, Moscow; 1975: Moved to East Berli;1976-80: Attends Humboldt University, Berlin. Specializes in history and Slavic Studies. 1987: Graduated from Academy of Arts, Berlin where he was a student of the master class of Werner Klemke (Berlin) and Rudolf Hausner (Vienna). 1988: Admitted as Member of Artists House, Austrian Society of Fine Arts; Conceptual designer, Das Stille Museum, Berlin (1992-1994); From 2000: President of Sergej Mawrizki Foundation.
