FIRST EDITION.Two volume set. 500 copies printed only.According to Boris A.Liaskovskii (Boris Laskowsky) volume two was typeset in Munich but printed in Berlin.

Bio - bibliographical dictionary of Russian and Soviet writers persecuted in Russia in XVIII - XX centuries.The author was a prominent Russian journalist, researcher at Pushkinskii dom, editor and bibliographer. Settled in Berlin in 1918. Established 'Arzamas' publishing house in 1925. Vladimir Nabokov became one of the share-holders. Printed a number of music scores in 1920s and sold rare books to Berlin book dealers and to American bibliophiles to support his family.

Shortly after 1925 established in Berlin private lending library 'Obrazovanie'. The entire library was confiscated in 1945 by Soviet Military Administration in Berlin. Alexander and Boris Laskoskowskys were arrested by SMERSH in May 1945. Both were freed in ten days after a number of interrogations by SMERSH officers. Alexander Laskowsky had an antiquarian bookstore in Berlin till 1963 or 1964. His son Boris, born in 1919, continued father´s business till 2000s.
