Andrei Georgievich Bitov, born Leningrad, May 27, 1937 is a prominent Russian writer. A number of literary critics and researchers consider him among the foremost Russian writers of the late 20th century.He was granted the Bunin Award in 2006 for his selected prose works Palace Without a Tsar.
